SPONSORSHIP INTEGRITY POLICY

IACSF-POL-005 | Version 1.0 | Effective Season 2026

Document No. IACSF-POL-005
Authority IACSF Bylaws, Article XXIII, Section 23.4
Effective Date January 1, 2026
Approved By IACSF Board of Directors
Administered By IACSF Commissioner
Review Cycle Annual, or upon any significant commercial development

This Policy is issued pursuant to Article XXIII, Section 23.4 of the IACSF Bylaws, which requires the IACSF to maintain a sponsorship integrity policy governing categories of commercial partners the Federation and its Member Teams may and may not accept. The Policy applies to all sponsorship, naming rights, and commercial partnership arrangements at the Federation level and at the team level for activities connected to IACSF-sanctioned events.

The IACSF's commercial relationships must be consistent with its mission as a governing body for aerial combat sport, its obligations to participant safety, and its responsibility to maintain public trust in the integrity of competition.

SECTION 1 — SCOPE AND DEFINITIONS

1.1 Scope

This Policy applies to:

  • All sponsorship, title sponsorship, presenting sponsorship, and naming rights agreements entered into by the IACSF at the Federation level;

  • All sponsorship agreements entered into by Member Teams that involve the display of sponsor marks at any IACSF-sanctioned event, on IACSF Championship broadcast content, or on aircraft, uniforms, or equipment used in IACSF competition;

  • All commercial partnership, licensing, and endorsement arrangements that use IACSF marks or Championship designations.

This Policy does not govern Member Team commercial arrangements that are entirely confined to non-IACSF events, provided no IACSF marks or Championship designations are associated with those arrangements.

1.2 Definitions

Naming Rights The right to associate a sponsor's name with an IACSF event, competition, facility, or series designation.
Category Exclusivity A contractual right granted to a Federation Sponsor preventing the IACSF from entering into an agreement with a competitor in the same product or service category.

SECTION 2 — FEDERATION SPONSORSHIP HIERARCHY

2.1 Sponsorship Tiers

The IACSF recognizes the following Federation sponsorship tiers. Tier descriptions and associated benefits are set out in the IACSF Commercial Partnerships Guide, maintained by the Commissioner and updated as needed.

Tier Designation Description

2 — Presenting IACSF Presenting Partner Exclusive within product category; prominent branding across all IACSF Championships and official media.
3 — Official IACSF Official Partner Non-exclusive within category unless exclusivity is negotiated; event branding and credentialing.

3.2 Restricted Category Approval Process

A Member Team or the Commissioner seeking Board approval for a Restricted Category sponsor must submit the following to the Board at least thirty (30) days before execution of any agreement:

  • Sponsor name, parent company, and category;

  • Summary of proposed commercial arrangement and event visibility;

  • Confirmation that the sponsor's products are legal in all jurisdictions where the agreement will have effect;

  • Confirmation that no existing Federation Sponsor exclusivity is affected;

  • Proposed activation plan including any age-restriction or responsible messaging commitments;

  • Legal counsel confirmation of compliance with applicable advertising laws.

The Board may approve, approve with conditions, or deny the request. Approval of a Restricted Category sponsor for one event does not constitute standing approval for future arrangements. Each agreement requires separate Board review.

SECTION 4 — TEAM SPONSOR APPROVAL

4.1 Requirement for IACSF Approval

Member Teams must obtain IACSF approval before activating any sponsorship that will be visible at an IACSF-sanctioned event — including display on aircraft livery, uniforms, pit equipment, team vehicles, team social media associated with an IACSF event, or team event-day promotional materials. Approval is required regardless of the commercial value of the arrangement.

WARNING. Displaying an unapproved sponsor at an IACSF-sanctioned event constitutes a violation of the IACSF Bylaws and may result in removal of sponsor marks before competition, loss of event points, and referral to the Judicial and Disciplinary Committee.

4.2 Approval Procedure

Submission deadline No later than thirty (30) days before the first event at which the sponsor will be activated. Expedited review (10 business days) available upon payment of expedited review fee.
Submission content Sponsor name, category, proposed activation description (including mock-up of livery or uniform placement), and confirmation the sponsor is not in a Prohibited Category.
Review authority Commissioner reviews against this Policy. Restricted Category sponsors escalated to Board. Permitted Category sponsors approved by Commissioner within 15 business days.
Approval scope Approval applies to the specific season unless the team's sponsor or activation materially changes. Standing approvals may be granted for multi-year arrangements.
Denial If denied, the team may appeal to the Board within 15 days. Board decision is final.

4.3 Exclusivity Protection

Team sponsors in a category for which a Federation Sponsor holds Category Exclusivity may not be activated at IACSF-sanctioned events in a manner that conflicts with the Federation Sponsor's exclusivity rights. The Commissioner maintains the current exclusivity schedule and advises Member Teams on potential conflicts during the approval process. The IACSF will use reasonable efforts to structure Federation exclusivity arrangements to minimize impact on established team sponsor relationships.

SECTION 5 — NAMING RIGHTS

5.1 Federation Naming Rights

The IACSF may grant naming rights to Federation sponsors for Championship events, series, and trophies, subject to the following limits:

  • The IACSF name and acronym may not be subsumed into a sponsor name. Sponsor naming must be additive (e.g., "[Sponsor] IACSF World Championship" not "[Sponsor] Championship");

  • Championship designations ("World Championship," "Continental Championship") must remain identifiable as IACSF events in all branded materials;

  • Naming rights may not be granted for a term exceeding five (5) years without Board supermajority approval;

  • Any naming rights arrangement must include a right of the IACSF to terminate for cause upon material breach of this Policy or the IACSF Bylaws.

5.2 Event and Facility Naming

Where event venues or facilities associated with IACSF Championships carry sponsor naming, those names may be used in IACSF promotional materials only if approved by the Board. The IACSF is not obligated to use third-party facility names in official results, records, or historical archives.

SECTION 6 — CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

6.1 Director and Officer Conflicts

A Director, officer, or Commissioner who has a personal financial interest in a proposed sponsorship or commercial partnership — whether through equity, employment, family connection, or existing contractual relationship — must disclose that interest to the Board in writing before any discussion or vote on the arrangement. The interested person must abstain from voting and, at the Board's discretion, may be excluded from deliberations.

WARNING. Failure to disclose a conflict of interest in a commercial arrangement is a breach of fiduciary duty and will be referred to the Judicial and Disciplinary Committee.

6.2 Competitor Conflicts

The IACSF will not enter into a sponsorship arrangement with an entity that is a direct commercial competitor of a significant existing Federation Sponsor without the existing sponsor's written consent or the expiry of any applicable exclusivity period.

6.3 Integrity of Competition

No sponsorship arrangement may confer upon a sponsor any influence over competition results, scheduling decisions, judging appointments, or disciplinary proceedings. Any arrangement that purports to do so is void. Any person who accepts or solicits a benefit in exchange for influencing competition outcomes will be referred to the Judicial and Disciplinary Committee.

SECTION 7 — DISCLOSURE AND TRANSPARENCY

7.1 Public Disclosure

The IACSF shall publish, on its official website, a current list of Federation Sponsors by tier. Category exclusivity arrangements need not be disclosed in full, but the existence of an exclusive relationship in a given category must be disclosed. The list shall be updated within thirty (30) days of any new or terminated Federation Sponsor agreement.

7.2 Annual Report

The Commissioner shall include in the annual report to the Board a summary of all Federation Sponsor agreements in force, all new agreements executed during the year, any Policy exceptions granted, and any compliance issues identified. The Board shall review and acknowledge this report annually.

7.3 Team Disclosure Obligations

Member Teams must disclose to the IACSF, upon request, a complete list of their current sponsors and the nature of each arrangement. Teams must promptly notify the Commissioner of any material change to an approved sponsorship arrangement, including changes in sponsor ownership or category.

SECTION 8 — ENFORCEMENT

8.1 Federation Sponsor Violations

Where a Federation Sponsor breaches this Policy or engages in conduct inconsistent with the IACSF's values, the Commissioner may recommend to the Board suspension or termination of the sponsor agreement. Termination provisions, including any required notice period and associated costs, are governed by the individual sponsor agreement.

8.2 Member Team Violations

Activation of an unapproved or Prohibited Category sponsor at an IACSF-sanctioned event may result in the following actions, applied progressively depending on severity and intent:

  • Written warning and required immediate removal of sponsor marks;

  • Loss of competition points or result adjustments for the affected event session;

  • Exclusion from competition for the remainder of the event;

  • Financial penalty per the IACSF Fee Schedule;

  • Referral to the Judicial and Disciplinary Committee for further sanctions, including suspension of the Member Team's IACSF membership.

8.3 Policy Amendments

The Board may amend this Policy at any time by resolution. Amendments to the Category Schedule (Section 3.1) require simple majority approval. Amendments to Sections 5 (Naming Rights) or 6 (Conflicts of Interest) require a supermajority vote. Amendments take effect at the start of the next competitive season unless the Board designates an immediate effective date.
